ok im confused and need some help figureing this out.no company is to be bashed on here or anything in a political marking put up ,hense thats why bob is gone.but yet pumpco and c&c and various others have been talked about and there problems aired out on here for the past few days.even one has taken a stab as far as the statement as it is a LES than perfect day.and fact being that yes they are all having problems and dont get me wrong i have no luv loss for the 2 that has been having the most of problems. but i was told that if its fact it will stay up here.fact one is one took over the others area, fact 2 is alot of operators is out of work, fact 3 is now they are offering jobs in another area on line in the same ones face that come on here that luv this site as much as the rest of us,and fact 4 this will probably be deleted just because they are a sponser here.now right ,wrong,or indifferent no matter how we feel bout the other companies lets keep it fair, they are all out for blood and protecting themselves right now not many of them out there are lookin out for the guys who put in the blood sweat and tears and long hours to make a company name what it is.theres a few that are like mine but we arent in danger in going anywhere.if we cant say how all are screwing us over lets dont say how none is screwing us over.and now everyone is taking stabs at manufacturers and SCHWING and according to the new mag i just got they are on top of most used and all. so lets get it stright

i was asked to clarify what i meant by screwing us over.i mean they are hanging operators out to dry no different than the big men in Detroit taking there money and running and the families there left with nuthing after years of hard work cause our job isnt as easy as it looks . now used too it would be like we have no work here but we do in another area but we do in this area if u wanna relocate.but its not that way anymore and i guess with all the old guys gone it will never be the same.now not to rub it in at any means but like my company they take care of me thru these tuff times cause my owners realize without me theres no one to run the pump so we look at it as they need me and i need them as much, if not more.but we respect each other to the fullest and by no means are we a million dollar company but they trust and believe in family and not hanging me out there. i hope this turns out well for everyone but the longer it goes the worst it looks for a industry to where we used to be called the ELITE in our craft its a sad thing

pumperman,

I'm in the same has you.I work for a small company,And the only operator. They need me and boy do I need them.We are the elite.Right now thing are very bad for everyone. We all have to keep are heads up and back each other. We are not going any where.Like Todd said things are bad,But we have to stick together and get through this. It's going to be harder for some and easier for others. We have to support and help each other and help if we can.The thing that is going on with BB and pumpco is VERY unfortunate but there is nothing anyone can do.SO we as pump operators and owners have to help in anyway they can.Even if it's words of encourgement. So please help if you can.No more bashing each other,Let stick together and get through this.Ok I'll stop, Yo guys start saying go to Oprah LOL

It's the internet. That means say what u want and read it all with a grain of salt.  People love gossip and will often put foot in mouth. Stop censoring the juicy stuff.  Now have a Happy Easter.  God bless us all.

tele...you are exactly right...everything that happens in this industry affects everyone in this industry. All I'm saying is censor all or tell all. Let's stop picking and choosing.

An observation of sorts

There are many smaller companies out there that still believe in there employees. The bigger a company get one becomes more a number, that's just the way it works (fact).

Lets just take for example a company keeps there prices up,in good and bad times. What does that translate into?More money on the table for such things as being financially solvent,pay/benifit increases for the employees, logically updating equipment. In this case Mr O'Brian and Dick Tracy have made great points.

There are a few of us on this list that have been at it 30+ years,I have.We have either seen or been involved with many aspects, laborer, management, operator (I have). The operators have had no doing of the current mess but my heart goes out for them.

Now my confused question.Where would some companies be today had they smelled the coffee? my guess still in business.

"All I'm saying is censor all or tell all. Let's stop picking and choosing." Here here. Perhaps we need an industry message board that isn't run for the advertisers, but is operated with the operators in mind. We are, after all, the crux of the industry and the best, (or worst) salesmen any employer has. Where, since it directly affects the entire construction industry, politics could and would be discussed. The merits and downfalls of any given company/employer could be rationally discussed. Where the the operator comes before the advertiser and the free exchange of ideas, issues, and industry information is reality rather than lip service. Where if information is posted as fact and backed up with verifiable sources, it will stay posted, (other than personal attacks). Where industry news that affects us all can and would be disseminated without regard to the advertising dollar but with regard to operator safety, machine safety, and verifiable facts. Where pictures of downed pumps could be posted for the learning potential. The operator of said pump could even be invited to talk to all about what was learned from the event so we might all learn. Sounds like a message board with separate forums may be in order and any advertisers would be warned ahead of time that there may be spirited debates about issues that affect them directly, including politics and human resources. Good grief. Truth, Justice and the American way. What a concept. Too bad it went out with Superman. How long will this thread stay up? Care to wager?

Todd-

Why don't you think about installing a forum section on the site that we, as paying subscribers, could participate in that would be free of sponsor logos and PC police?

I've seen other message boards that have this feature.  Your main site is free for all users and abides by site rules - however, the 'pay-per-view' site could contain what 180Flyer's talking about.  All while remaining invisible to your site sponsors as to not offend anyone.

MAybe $1 per month...maybe $2?  I'll bet Bob would manage it.  At the end of the year we could rent out a bowling alley and have a kick ass tournament!

Its really refreshing to see other people celebrate Easter more than hunting eggs.  With no nascar on this weekend, I, like Todd will be napping on the couch.  Sweet dreams sunshine
