I can't remember when or where I saw it, but there's a picture floating around of a fella that was attempting to steal wire from a transformer...he got cooked.  It was a really awful picture...but I guess that's nature's way of weeding out the dumb ones...

Several years ago it was man hole covers,watch your step with that shotgun.

ya people have been stealing copper for years , they used to steal the copper off the plumbing on some job sights around here , damn tweekers !!

I almost forgot,my mind is going.

About 7-8 years ago if you had alum forms you had worries.Not only were they taking multiple forms off job sites they were taking loaded 5th wheel trailers.One contractor had a brand new trailer loaded with new forms and gone.

The contractors got together with there ins carriers and posted a $25k reward for information and got it in the news.As you might guess,BUSTED.They were selling to a local scrap yard and yes it was drug motivated.Never did hear what they got in terms.

They have started stealing catalytic converters around here, and going into foreclosed houses and stealing the copper. 

my brother in law works at a pest control place, and the other day (after a 3 day weekend) they arrived to work to find everyone of their catalytic converters had been cut off. wtf is this world comming to!
