When do you all think we will see countereights on concrete pumps? Cranes have them, why not concrete pumps? A pump that can drive itself to a job load its own counterweights from a support truck and have an incredibly long boom. Cranes do it, why not concrete pumps? |

I think that with the new 70m Putz we have seen just about the end of the size wars for the one piece booms. I see the next step as a ‘carrier’ for a first section and ½ of the second section with the boom and counterweights on a follow-on vehicle. The pump pulls into the job and sets up. Next, the boom lifts off the counterweights from the trailer and places them on top of the outriggers. Next step is for the boom to swing over and catch the boom; hook up pins, hydraulic lines, pipe and lift it off of the trailer and deploy. The 100meter is now ready to kick out some crete! This will be handy for all our new Nuke plants. ;~) |

In all reality I never see this happening the cost will be too great, labor, far as erecting and the un godly time it takes to erect such a machine. Why not just go with what we got and add some freakin hoses and pipe no big deal. Hell we can pump a mile or 2 so why should we use such of a machine that is going to cost everyone so much money. Egos are getting way out of hand I do beleive but whatever I just run them. |

Actually Bob it can happen in the future, and might. I guess some didn't see power plant jobs of yesteryear. They would probably charge the same as a crane on job.
