Hi, I am looking for an experienced crusher operator who is interested in coming up to the Calgary AB area in the spring of 2008 to help establish our pit and train a few people in the trade. Travel, housing and pay. If you are interested email Shawn at cornishs@telus.net

That sure is an unusual post for this site. Not too many of these folks have ever really checked out a crusher spread.

Sure we have Bob,look at all those loads we couldn't pump. It's a concrete pump not a rock crusher, crush it before it gets to the pump.

If all of the people in the crushing business did their job--- the operator of the pump would not need to tell the RM people that "This is a pump, not a crusher."

I think that it is great that these people are looking for knowledgable troops to run their spread; not just warm bodies. There is hope ;~)

I resemble that remark. As a pumper I thought that I should know about the material that made up the glop we pump. I found the crusher business interesting. When done right it is the elimination of problems beforehand.

A professional pump operator needs to be able to dissect a 'bucket-0-crete' and know what he is looking at.... otherwise it is very hard to communicate with the RM folks when a problem does arise; chemistry not withstanding. ;~)

I spent some time looking for a forum related to crushing/aggregate. Maybe someone here could get me a link. Even if anybody knows of a "retired" pit operator who wouldn't mind getting paid to pass on their knowledge would help. Good people who are worth hiring are hard to find in this field here. On a more related note we are also setting up a redi-mix plant and will need people in those capacities as well, pumping included, as my partners have big plans for 2008.

Shawn,

After reading this message board for a few years I have an idea of the capability of some of the members. Speedy is a Canadian, and from what I have gleaned he is a thinker and a very sharp guy. I do not know what he is doing right now; but I think that you might want to talk to him as he is experienced in several  areas in which  you have expressed an interest.

Just my opinion. ;~)
