We have put oilers on the 63m pumps. We are a NON-UNION company. If the oilers do what they are paid to do........... then........ maybe we will put them on the 58m pumps. We have not yet begun to bill the customers for the extra man. I am a big proponent of the two man team. The operator works for the contractor and the oiler works for the pump.oilers job Maintain fuel levelHelp setup - move Keep eye on outriggersMonitor material going into pumpWatchout for the pump and the companyThis is NOT a training position (although a good oiler will make an excellent operator)A pump with an oiler should be cleaner, fewer breakdowns and NO customer complaintsAnd If the pump is in reverse, the oiler is in back of it doing the Mon backs |

Just remember one thing,,,,everybody is starting a new business and buying these pumps that are 150,000 dollars less then the big two and they are not passing the savings on. No, what they are doing is going into the market and dropping the per hour pump prices down because they can now. when your boss saves 150,000 dollars on a new pump will you get a raise to run it???? |

I think that for an industry to change there has to be collaboration from not just owners but also the operators, the government and the contractors. Sounds impossible and maybe it is.Cranes are regulated and this is where the pumps have an issue. Still in most areas we are not even considered on the same scale as cranes. Now don |

Great point longboom. And zxa, please read my WHOLE comment and maybe you will see my point. By no means would i want to pay 150,000 more for a pump. But my point is that many companies are doing this and driving the per hour rental cost down . I can name three right now but i wont. They pay less drop the price, some have even dropped operator pay and in 5 years time where will they be? Resale on those pumps?2 dollars |

jjpumper....i knew!! but here so far in montreal! either a concord or schwing..they work at the same rates!! maybe not in your regions??? but i just found that its just a little demagogic and not a valuable reason to ditch a compagny...just because they had bought a cheapest pump.....then how about those who buy used pump?? i means verry used...78/85 era?? theyre many and more than you think...hey longboomschwing... i bet that youre a schwing dealer??? ;) ;) schwing is a great compagny...but now theyre just not alone...have working with a schwing and concord since 2001...and so far the concord is as good as the schwing for the durability and less expensive for parts.........untill today this is what i have lived with both...This message was edited by zxa on 3-22-06 @ 6:43 PM |
