I love it Todd. So far only tandem jumps but I'm trying to get into it whenever I have time. I absolutely love it!

it is so much fun, It was my wife and I first date also. I walked up to her and asked her if she wanted to go sky diving and she said yes, next day we went and the rest is history.

Its funny because me wife will only do tandems, she says she is afraid she will forget to pull when its time. I keep telling her nobody forgets to pull, its the most prominent thought on your mind the whole way down. She is happy doing tandems so thats fine with me.

I´ve done a little more than 2000 jumps and i liked it alot. But when i started my pumpcompany it was bye bye to anything else but run my company. Sad but it´s to difficult to do both. It´s impossible to get my wife to do a jump - not even a simple tandemjump.

Nice cameraangle at the exit! I miss a sharp hookturn and a swoop at the video.....But the cameraman is a realy good freeflyer - it´s not an easy task to follow and film a novicejumper who circulate in the whole universe and not "stay on place in the tube" and fall straight down.

Every tandempilots have an "Cypress" in the reservepilotshute, and it cut the loop to the pilotshute at lower altitude than 250 m - but if your body is in a spin at that time - you get a streamer to the shute and gets flat feet (in best case). A thumbrule in skydiving says: If a car is big as an ant - PULL! If you see the licenseplate - PRAY!

About to do my first in July for our 20th anniversary , not scared of much but I have butterflies already !

Haha, that butterflyes is eagels when you are standing in exitposition and have an 13.000 ft depth "swimmingpool" to dive into.

You don´t have to be apprehensive to jump out from a plane - you are conected to a tandeminstructor - and i prommes you that he will never gamble with his own and yours life. And that means that he never jump with you before he checked all the gear.

To be a tandeminstructor is very tough - the stresstest is exactly the same test as every fightingpilot have bin through - and that test is a nightmare. Only 25% pass it and there is 5 more tough tests before you get the tandemlicens. Only 5 out of 100 pass all the tests.

Most people don´t think about the extreemly high acceleration when leaving the plane. from 0 mph to 125 mph in just 6 sec !!! And one more thing: In top of the list on deaths in skydiving, happends in carcrashes on the road toward the skydivefield !! That´s truth! So leave the car at home when you are gona skydive.

I tried it once.. Like every 1st timer it was a tandem jump. But instead of me being strapped to the front of the instructor it was more like me having a small man lashed to my back Cool

Why would anyone in there right mind want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

Almost every plane I jumped out of was a mess, most sky dive places run on a shoe string and duct tape.

The most funny flyingstuff i´ve jumped out from is an airballoon. No enginenoice or windspeed - just so quiet and it takes a few seconds after leaving it, before the aircushion builds up and make it possible to stear your body in freefall. Helicopter is also very funny to jump out of. It´s fanblades realy push your body downwards - the acceleration downward after exit is unbelievely high = extra funny.

"Many" The answer to your question is: It´s so boring to sit in a plane (i´ve spent 100´s of boringhours in skydiveplanes), and to make the planetrip funny - open the door and jump! That is a very good reason to leave a flyable plane. It´s better having fun than be bored.

Wow I really want to try a balloon jump sounds like fun, I love that falling feeling and when you jump from a plane you only get that for amsecond or two because of that air cushion you are talking about. In a balloon jump is that like a base jump?

ALMIMA 02-27-2012

I´ve never done a basejump - it´s too dangerous. To jump from a balloon gives a wierd feeling, just to jump out in totaly silence and you have no possibility to stear your body - that feeling is very wierd. Then after a few (about 5 - 8) seconds when the windsound gets louder you realy feel how the windcushion grow and makes you to stear your body. Airballoonjumps is top of the line in skydiving.

I recomend you to exit from the balloon in a hard somersault - just be prepared..you can´t stop spin before you got the windcushion. It,s a funny feeling.
