I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the 'keepers' of the American dollar. Today, right now, the Canadian Dollar is worth more on the world exchange than the green-back. Thanks ;~) |

Well with Canadian dollar at par I am on my way from Calgary back to Toronto and was stopping to get gas and see this guy in a full blown arguement with a gas station attendant saying why if there is a threat with bad weather wars what ever the gas goes up.up.up but now we are on par why does it not go down or at least match US gas prices and the guy at the station is saying call your head office this b.s. anyway I left and donr know the outcome....lol I will say this though I am trying to put together some money to head south of the boarder to buy a new vehicle the prices are so much cheaper on some vehicles a friend of mine saved over 20 grand. If my grandfather was alive today he would be buying thousands of US dollars right now....... |

What brought that to light was the fact that I am re-reading an old Tom Clancy book. On the cover the price reads US $7.99 CAN $10.99 and yelling at the guy at the gas station about the price of gas is like yelling at the mixer driver for bringing the wrong mix |

Good one Bob, the gas station has to watch his supplier as the gas in his tanks goes up even though he has not put in fresh high priced gas. I am in B.C. and the high dollar is not good for us, the forest industry may loose the US market to other suppliers. We are in a funny position as our economy is driven by offshore money, ps Asian. We do not suffer as fast as the rest of Canada. Or have we seen to much effect from the suffering US, So far, but its probably comming. We have the Olympics and major infastrure to build on. We need to work on tourism more. Hope the US comes back soon or atleast before 2010. If I am wrong please add to this or correct. |
