How many pump operators get lazy at times? Well I did it and am paying for it. Working late on a current job and decided to suck back a soft ball to speed up the wash out. I has bit me in the ass for two days now plugging in the boom becuase of the biuld up.

now that's a good tip! I always stick to the 'rules' with every thing I do. Never forget what you've learned. Get lazy and it WILL bite you hard one time !! Its one of the first things I teach when they send me out with a new guy..

I think we're all lazy , maybe I should say we like to do things the easy way and don't make things more difficult then they are.

Danger slips in when we are on automatic pilot en work on routine. A minor change can cause great problems. I unfolded the boom once while the outriggers wheren't out because someone interupted my routine.It went just right but it could have been worse.

Like you sucking the ball back , always take your time and stay sharp. problems are just around the corner.

That's funny concrete canon. I did just the same thing once with martijn's old 32 meter. That wreck your brother drove for a while ;-). Unfold and had the endhose about 15 meters over the side of the truck.. Turned around and saw the whole truck lean about 45 degrees.. Just pulled the boom back over the hopper and took out the supporters. Amazing what it takes to make it flip actually. But I blame myself for the full 110% for this mistake. It is no excuse to say others distracted me. I was stressed, lazy and was actualy working as finnisher in those days. They asked me if I could drive a pump for once because an other guy was sick. So it was a long time a go. But That means I should have been even more focused. Since that time I just force myself to not get distracted, stressed and lazy. Even though i et tired of myself some times. Sometimes I almost do it.. (like use to litle dunnage and think it will just hold) but then think twice and say to myself: don't get fckn lazy again!! I could never live with myself if I would kill someone knowing that I was already doubting about my setup..
