If in this case a photo of the pump with a broken leg went viral online, the manufacturer would certainly get all the blame.Quick conclusion always assume the manufacture is to blame. There are always more to the story than the final photo of destruction. In this case the video said a million words (not thousand).

Your greatest asset is your operator not the pump. In this case a salvage crew would of had the machine working the next day. Now its a paperweight at best.

The front outrigger simply failed because it was grossly overloaded, essentially supporting the entire load and at an extreme angle. Swinging that opposite rear outrigger all the way out full of water and sucking a ball would have made a Huge difference. Not only relieving the weight but also creating some counter weight at the same time.

Something to think about now is when they get that machine upright and repair it's broken leg. Are they going to bother spending the time and money to have that boom inspected and fluxed stem to stern like it should be after being laid down that hard. The pins, the rams, the levers. You know that violent of an impact damaged Something.

He was pushing the boom down to try to get the pump upright... Thats about as amateuristic as it can get..

actually that pump is back working again , I thought for sure it would be trash , but it is back pumping and to my knowledge passed a inspection before it was put back in service.
