I see it as a standard expense of working. You can claim it as was said as an unreimbersed expenses at the end of the year. Any clothing or personal safety equipment you purchase is under that as well. |

paid lunches ? i take it you meen getting paid thru lunch or getting company to pay for your lunch ? either in these times will be hard to come by, now if your pumping and eat a sandwich on the go you should get paid, I once worked for a company that if you consumed food they docked you 30 minutes, so we started shutting down jobs for 30 minutes needless to say that didnt last long, but you cannot expect to be paid if you sit down and eat for 30 minutes or so, nor can you expect your company to have the burden of feeding you at lunch, most companies will once in a while treat the guys to lunch or dinner but this should not be expected it should be appreciated, count your blessings you have a job and stop nitpicking are you might not be counting anything except weeks of unemployment you'll have left. |

and down here some companies pay some dont for dot exams, most insurances will pay for a yearly physical with no out of pocket expense though, I have always felt that if you drive for someone they should be responsible for making sure you are dot approved but I dont write the laws,I just try to follow them. |

This applies to California- don't know about the other states Labor Code Physical Examinations for Driver's License231. Any employer who requires, as a condition of employment, that an employee have a driver's license shall pay the cost of any physical examination of the employee which may be required for issuance of such license, except where the physical examination was taken prior to the time the employee applied for such employment with the employer. |
