I want to compare how different is USDOT regulation from Canadian DOT?I bought a pump from USA and i paid for US DOT inspection. They did charge me for a couples things and the truck did get approved by DOT.But now i ll have to get it approved Canadian DOT.A leaking steering box,too much travel on torc rod ends, no cap on power steering reservoir,no reflector placed above each maker lights and a tear on tire side are all things that has been approved by US DOT one week ago but won t be here in Canada.
What do you think ? |

I don t want to create a conflict ,i just want to compare both side of the border .I ve been charge for it and if they got away with it, good for them. But if i ve been charge and they didn t send it to DOT it s bullshit for me. 3 miles from my shop two bolts on an injector broke.Got it towed, then when i finally repair it,i could put the truck in reverse or low gear.Third, the brake lights didn t work neither. It s all small things that i can do.It s all about trust from the beginning of the transaction we coudn t trust a 100%.Imagine if it woud have happen 200 or 2000 miles .... I would have pay!!!! i bought it as is ,as the condition report said and negociating with it.Including things that were due, said on the condition report. An another example ,Conditon report said broken tip boom light, none of two tower lights and the 4 outrrigger lights work at all. condition report said:one outrigger drop after sitting for too long,3 out of 4 leaks oil and the 4 one drop 6 - 7 inches after 30 min.On the pictures i saw it i told them to repair it and he said no leaks just dropping after a while. All this are not the biggest deal to repair but the pump was in there shop they could have done it while it was there. I know they are going to work something out with me but it s all about time i m loosing and trust.Believe me i didn t buy the cheapest pump for sale if i compared to what s left, i bought the highest priced one with more hours and miles on it. But i told myself that i better bought it from one of the big player then from an unknown pumping co . |

Just for my own knowledge, do you fly down to inspect the pumps before you buy them? If you don't, it's something you should start doing. If your busy, where I get the maintenance for my pump done, they send someone out for you to take a look at it, run some tests. Sometimes it's money we'll spent. A guy up north bought a boom, thought he saved some money, he went to pick it up, brought it in to have a look at it, over 80k of repairs to get her out pumping again...tpg vend 3 de cest pompe. 2 Putz une schwing. Plus chere Mai's c'est locale. Bonnie chance |

On there web site it s written :it will be perform prior delevery and i know they did upgrade on the 3rd section but i need to get it approved on this side of the border. i know it s better to fly or send somebody to check it out.but i get a condition report signs by authority of this big player.a mounth ago i bought 32m with the help of alliance and the report that was sign was pretty accurate even if it was a schwing.i bought 8 pumps in the last 6 years and it s the first time that having issues with trust of conditon report. |

With all the items listed in the first blog, the truck should have never passed DOT inspection, if you have been charged for any of these items to be repaired, you need to contact thes guys for a reimbursment, or you to find a lawyer, who is familiar with international affairs. sure sounds a little fishy... as far as not getting the gear in rev or low, a mechanical failure can occur at any time, it depends on what you negotiated with your seller. in good faith if I had sold a truck to you and it breaks down on your first trip, I would have repaired it at no cost to you, looks like you had a good experience there before. |

***A leaking steering box,too much travel on torc rod ends, no cap on power steering reservoir,no reflector placed above each maker lights and a tear on tire side *** They didn t charge any of this but they let it pass dot inspection with all of this.I know the reflector above the maker light it s only in Quebec,Canadian dot.The rest,i m really sure,if it s major here,it s in the US. |

I would make sure they check the rear end springs and bushings too. If you have to replace those, thats a $12,000.00 bill at the dealer |
