What a trip Redman! I've been shaking my head at the very same thing all day! On page 27 too, a guy walking a wall with a CF 3" double ender. An article called "Reinventing residential" goes on to to say how ABI Corp. has successfully made the transition from residential to heavy commercial const. stating that they're CFA, NRMCA, AGC, ACI AND "ACPA" Certified. No mention of a pump company, I believe they may run their own 39m Schwing out of Kansas City Mo. But then again, It's not really an ACPA "rule" yet but the pros know how it goes! |

I am here in KC and I know this company. Yes they have their own pump. I have seen their pump operating with that double ended hose before and said something about it and they did not seem to care. "Nothing has ever happened before". |

I worked for a company with about 25 pumps and one had a single ended hose, mine. There was no getting threw to these guys, would keep telling me that it was stupid to keep changing the hose when ever you had to hang a trimmie. Never seen a safty sling either, they thought that was just as stupid. Wonder how they are doing now? |

I still get customers mad, saying the other guy uses a double 90.
Last week i explained to the owner it only takes a second with a hose whip bam.. guaranteed closed casket funeral. |

Judging by the article, this company that's stepping up from residential to commercial work may simply not know any better. They only have 1 pump so they're gonna end up doing what ever their 1 operator tells them to. I wouldn't be cutting them any slack if they were a pump company but you cant fault someone just because they do know any better. However if they're gonna talk the talk by stating that they're "ACPA certified" then they should walk the walk by acting like it! Hey Todd send em a little care package with a couple stickers explaining how the 'pros' do it, they might even post a cp.com link on their fancy website? I bet the owners and management would like another source of concrete pumping input besides their one operator. |

I think some thing that needs to happen is ALL of us that WILL NOT run a DE hose,Need to pass on to the contractors that this is an unacceptable practice and they themselves should refuse to be on the end of a boom with one on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
