128 dead so far. They reckon it could top 200. I hope Drew is OK. Not sure if he is from Victoria.

I have just checked the area code. He is from the area of the fires.

It must have moved very fast. It burnt the undergrowth and houses and the trees are still green on top.

im ok I was about 40km from it , what can i say its the worst disaster in victoria ever!

Saturday was hell hot got to 46.6 (115.8) with a howling north wind , the stage was set being in the sothern hemisphere the north wind is the hottest , i dunno how many fires broke out but if anyone has seen the news it was like hell on earth, the fires were like tornados , a friend of mine saved his house, he siad he has never seen anything like it the fire came over the hill and blew hes bedroom windows out , some how he managed to save the place.. I think if it would have been anyone else they would have had no hope , hes gotta be the toughest f*ker ive ever met!

I think there is almost 800 houses lost towns are completly gone , the death toll is climbing toward 200 there are still towns witch are not accesable , the fires are still going they say it could take weeks to get them undeer control.

500,000 hectares of land burnt i think it could be more.

Australia is pretty smal town compared to other conterys we only have 20 mill population so this is really bad concidering we are also the dryest contenent on eatrh ,the worst part about it is that arson is a big part of it !!
