How do u guys slow the setting of concrete in the hopper if you have to drive a little ways to dump it? I've herd that mixing sugar with it will nearly stop it.

15 or 20 minutes, 95 degree weather. dosen't happen every day, just every now and then.

that might not be too bad. i know i pumped the hopper down real low one time and drove no less than ten mins to the shop after i sucked a sponge to clean out.

Grace Admixtures make a product caller recovery that will put the concrete to sleep, they say you can put it in the mixer and shut off the truck and start it 2 hours later and the concrete will be like it was just batched.  It is expensive so i just pump the hopper down and then add a lot of water and make soup.

BigStickers: The mud in your hopper trying to set up before you get all your dunnage, pads and whatnot put away? Put a cup or two of sugar in it AFTER you pump out your hopper, but before you pull the ball back.ITS GREAT!!! A half cup with the ball goes well too,BUT prime out AWAY from the pour on your next job!
