Anybody have an electric line pump? I thought I remember seeing the electric motor as an option on most of the major manufactures literature... but I can't find it any more. Which maunfactures offer an electric? I am looking for one in California, anyone want to work in the S.F. bay area? |

Redman I would stay away from that type of pump just getting water to clean our with is tough some times and I got a feeling trying to find the right power hookup and to much cord may have to much power loss and damage you motor , or you will need a heavy duty generator which are expencive, I might be wrong but I think you are asking for trouble than its worth. |

I know we had a very large Schwing placing pump in Tampa Fl. When I first saw it I said I dont know about this thing pushing mud twenty something storys but it never failed. I would guess you could check with the auction houses it should be around somewhere It was direct wired to a very large generator. |

Hello Redman1, All REED line pumps can be powered by an electric motor instead of a diesel. Please give Paul Sulman a call at 909-374-6516 - he'll help figure out which configuration is best for you. Thanks. Mike |

I've seen a couple elec. Schwings and one Putz. Used them on placing boom and vertical jobs. Sure was nice to actually hear what was going on for once. I liked them and have though many times of why there are so few of them being used. The ultimate "green" pump? The obvious problem is having a consistant power supply, 3 phase 480 and higher can be hard to come by so they end up being stationary pumps. I'll take an elec.powered pump over a Schw.8000 any day! yoU KnOW THE BIG BAD ONE WITH TWIN DUETZ'S? |

Yeah, they're nice until something goes wrong. Ever had to wire one of those things from scratch? Because I have and let me tell you everything on these electrical systems today is interconnected. 480 3-phase, screw that, I'd rather have a diesel motor turning a hydraulic pump. If the pollution is a problem (tunnels, parking garages, etc . . .) then you need what you need to get the job done, but why reinvent the wheel if you don't have to? |

The wheel has never needed reinventing however there have been considerable improvements since the original stone circle. Some time in my sons lifetime we will run out of diesel and will have quit burning it long before then due to it costing $100 per gallon. Elec.everthing is coming someday |

Im thinking of a solar powered very green energy effecient pump to help out Al Gores global warming,I'm sorry climate change I'm sorry bullshit is the correct term. Just joking its already hot as hell here in Fl. Think solar power might work in this heat. |
