Just a few questions for you guys. What is the most concrete you guys have poured on one job by yourself? Do you guys rotate the pipe on your boom for even wear, and if so how often? Also i was thinking of getting some retarder (stuff that keeps concrete from setting up) to keep on my truck. because latley i've not been able to wash up on the job. and if i put in the retarder i could just empty my hopper at the yard and clean out there. i've also heard a pound of sugar works.... What do you guys think??

Personally i have done 2300 yards at one time by myself, If we arent running to hard yes we do when we have time especially the ser pipe. Well the sugar works but just be sure you dont pump it back into whatever you are pouring. And if the concrete is already on fire it may not work then.

and i have a job coming up where i will need to pump 2 yards in a hole inside a building then raise up and go down through another rafter to do another hole. i think there is about 10 of them. What can i do besides sucking a sponge back to keep concrete from falling?

If you feel the need recirculate it it only takes a min, just be sure to fold the boom all the way up, i saw a guy one day trying to be smart and ended up on his side leaving the last two sections of a 32m x  stuck off the back while moving.

hose pinchers (2 steel grade stakes (2.5' to 3' long) hinged on one end either weld 2 chain links or simple use tie wire threw the nail hole and wrap it a few tines the a clampage device either a hook or wrap some tie wire around the other end works great

We use Fritz pak Delay set. www.fritzpak.com It works and works good. As far as your job coming up, if we have to pump through system and move like that wether 4" or 3" we to a hose clamp of each size and welded a steel disk about 1/8" thick on the inside "only weld to the handle side" so if you clamp this on the end of a system hose it stops all drippings. Then when you are ready to go just snap it off, works great. We use the conforms reducing hoses as our primary discharge hoses so if I need to move or pinch it off a saftey harness that you use between your system hoses works pretty good. Just let your hose drain until empty and pinch it off and open your strap a big as it will go and cinch er down.

as far as the set up of the concrete the sugar works and is cheaper and the fritz pak also works i wouldnt do the retarder thing cause if u put to much and put it back in the pour u can screw it up  but the sugar or delay set is the best way but kinking the hose is a great idea also but it depends on the size hole u r going through. if u cant do that and get it back in take a clamp that is the sizer of your end if have a double end and weld a peice of flat steel in it and close it . collered hoses r not recommended but on a sit like that u can do it just watch your mix and do what u can not to plug and keep people away when starting back up and u should be fine
