final cost. about $1400 removed it myself, (yes alone). reinstalledit myself, (yes alone). Took cylinder to hydrolic shop to be rebuilt. charge rechrome $800. Charge dismantle clean re assimbleand paint about $450. $50 seals, havent got the bill for piston rings yet had them over-nite from schwing america $60 ?? Hardest part was throwing that cylinder over my shoulder and carrinying it down the steps. Only kidding, lifted her out with my mini excavator, from atop a trailer parked next to the truck. dont think anybody will manualy remove those cylinders. Chrome shop took longer than I expected, droped off on on Friday, picked upfollowing Thursday morning. If someone needs to rush there rebuild,(cant wait that long) buy a new cylinder for about $2000 and if you had all the seals and a couple piston rings incas they broke one or two taking her down a good shop just might git the rebuild done in a day. plan on a day to get her apart and another to re-assimble it. mark all your hoses!!! TIP-- dont use the red stucko- tape use masking.. the plastic tapes, INK COMES OFF SOON AS HYDROLIC OIL GETS NEAR IT THEN ALL THE HOSES ARE NOT MARKED ANYMORE!! |
