So know I m going to have to pay for all the times I put super hot concrete into other peoples pumps  You know      Have the power trowel loaded and done while the operator is chipping out his hopper

Im not sure Im going to want others doing it to me any suggestions for when I run into those cowboys who use 2% acc in the summer time  I was one of them and nobody ever refused probably because I would pump super fast  But as a new operator should i have some retarder or maybe pop on board

I work for the guys that do the forms and block and we pump whatever the print calls for.  The finishers don't get to decied on what's in it.  I had some try to change it on us once, and the GC stepped in and said hell no.  I would not put acc in anything, but its always hot here.  I have spent hours chipping my hopper because it was 120+ that day.  I would have beat someone if there was acc in it.  lol Bottom line is, YOU back the truck up, YOU check the ticket, YOU check the slump, YOU decide if it goes into your pump.  If you don't like what they got, refuse to pump it.  Now if they tell you there is going to be ACC in it before hand, then you have a chance to talk them out of it.

I think that you should always carry some sort of reatarder. Always be preparded for anything and always be a step ahead of the placers or site super to reduce the risk of any problems.

Rev, it sucks when your on the other side of the road ain't it? I know it makes their lives a lot easier, but it sure makes it a lot harder for us operators. I always carry a box of sugar with me, just in case i get a hot mix. I circulate some sugar in the hopper, and it gives me extra time so it doesn't flash on me. on jobs where i couldn't clean out because i was downtown in a city, I would circulate sugar, drive for half hour or more and the concrete was still wet. Still took a little bit of chipping at the bottom of the hopper, and around the agitator, but having an air chisel on board helps a lot and makes life easy.

Mister Perkins is correct.  Sugar is a Pumper's best friend.

Keep 2 liters of coke. Always have one in the cab for those fun times
