Reminds me of a line job I watched, probably the funniest day I ever experianced. I was in a mixer the operator was off the ground excited to be there making dbl time, all I rember was easy money buddy easy money hehe.

He strung out 150ft of 2inch line off his line pump then said we had to wait for a fitting being custom made from his shop.

I had high flow 200 slump on, no agg. So 2 hrs rolls by finally the fitting came, hahaha A 1.5inch screw in nosel. Hmmm

under the hwy this thing goes they were srewing this fitting int the culvert and going to fill the voids, hehe so another half hr rolls by, then operator sarts the prime and is still grinning ear to ear about easy money, he stops the prime then 5 minutes the pump starts stroking hard. Hmm out comes a grey head to toe operator swearing like a nun in hades. I hate my job, I hate my stupid job, I still laugh today, your pictures bring back that day hehe I know not the same.

Oh I don't know the design, I had a fill mix, it was like water, I through 200 in there as a slump, but it was more like water, had to keep mixer rolling otherwise sand drops. I know the mpa's are skimpy, like 5-8 mpa. They do pump it here, but no very slow thats for sure.

If you don't have enough cementious the sand will plug you when you stop, like they say if sand would pump why is it laying in the Gulf of Mexico, I read a post on here about needing a telebelt cause a custmer wanting to know if he could pump wet sand well you can by adding 1500 lbs of flyash per yard of sand. try it

You can pump sand Ed, just need lots of water to carry it.  I watched a company make a funnel that had 4 water nozzles that pointed down to a pipe at the bottom.  That pipe was connected to a fire hydrant.  They cut a bulk bag of sand and poured it into the funnel and the water did the rest.  They carried it about 200' in the hose that way.  It worked well.  We were at a water treatment plant so the excess water was sent through again.  But I have seen boom pumps do the same, lots of water.

Good story seedless.  I can see it. I hate my job, I hate this dam job.  I pump tremendous amounts of flowable (pumpable) fill.  I have no problems pumping flowable fill.  Just like anything there is 1 company I cringe when I hear they are suppling it.  You can get it too wet or not wet enough.  You need lots of air content and that magic amount of water.  If it is a good blend and mix there is not much difference between it and grout.  Good mixes can sit for up to 10 minutes and be restarted.  Bad mixes better not stop at all. We have been pumping a ALDOT mix called pipe fill.  It only reaches 200 psi but it will fill a pipe.  We hooked up to a fire hydrant and pumped 80 yards 1.5 miles.  Now that was a easy job and we looked like we knew what we were doing.

Yes it can be a turkey shoot when it comes to suppliers. I ahd problems with one big firm, then their decrative devision  and tecks were brought together, now they are way better.
