Well no surprise, we here in Vancouver BC Canada. Have delft with shotty construction practices allot. Our Worksafe or WCB turns a blind eye untill they smell a possible money fine. But even then they make behind the scene deals with Government projects. Delft with this first hand. So if your a big contracter and have to pump over say the I5 with a 52m you sit with our Government and work safe and deal lie and cheat your way into doing just that, wcb will say hey they have to do it that way, thats it. We have pulled out of these jobs even though they seem to have their blessing. Lost lots of business in the past, but our firm will not allow this. Falling conc in the streets, seems almost the same, no traffic gaurds, hmm probably outside the budget, who knows the deal made prior to the start of the project. Canada is not as safety strict as we think, or maybe that's obvious. |
