ICF is really starting to catch on here in the usa.We did a 3 story at Buckly afb and it went real good. The form guys were out of Utah and really had there act together. They used a 3 1/2" tip and it was almost like reg walls. So I guess the crew is the make or break factor.I bet we are 30 years behind Europe with this system, havn't heard much from the guys over there.

Would'nt say you guys were 30 years behind, maybe not even 5-10 years.
ICF is still pricey as hell, but with new regulations and low energy houses it's starting to be more and more used.

yes the crew is the big factor the crew i'm working for is out of FL they use a 3" fire hose clamped around the end of a 3" end out of an old hose. I use a 5x3 reducer and hope for no plugs

They are very popular in N MN, I pump lots. That and floor water heat tube over 2" foam (in floor heating). The modern way of building in the cold country. Great for us pumpers! As far as ICF brands here in the north I bet there are 10 different company's competing to be the best and cheapest. Mostly all made in the midwest and Canada. Because shipping is expensive volume wise.

I have followed the topic of ICF for the last 30 years. The 1st time I saw this,It's what? That was the Vail area about 30 or so ago.It was used in Europe way before I saw it,so I started researching, even sent for liteture.I developed an opinion back then, far out.Yes there are several systems out there, but a select few crews that really know them.

With energy costs being the way they are, and, heading again it's worth the cost. Here's the rub, most builders are stuck on stuipid.Wood is the material of choice, cost, convienence, speed in which built, the almighty $$$.So yes,we are way behind Europe in building, but gaining. These have always been a pain to pump, but, with a little understanding a better operator. Here's a fun little link

Many: I bet we are 30 years behind Europe with this system, havn't heard much from the guys over there.

Most of the good systems over here seem to originate from canada
