Industries on the Upswing

Fortunately, the employment news isn't all so grisly and grim. In January, the temporary help services industry actually saw a 52,000-job increase. This is one industry that has seen significant employment improvements for quite a few months. After hitting rock bottom in September 2009, the temporary help services sector has added 247,000 new jobs.

Health care also saw a jump in jobs in January, and retail is on the rise with 42,000 new jobs. Plus, the federal government added 33,000 jobs, including 9,000 temporary Census 2010 positions.

think the census is to see who has money left over ha ha

So we have created one hundred thousand jobs in the last year and lost only 10 MILLION????  Sounds like change we can all believe in!

Yes temp employment is up,only because companies don't want to comit with the economy being uncertain....         Remember the construction industry has been  hit the hardest with around 25% unemployment so it's a long way from being better....

The best thing is to stay positive about our economy ,and both Dem's and repub's spin it there own way . They say the unemployment rate is at 9.6% right now. But the construction industry it is closer to 20% if you look into the actual numbers. We have even seen a huge drop in immigrant workers as there is more work in there home countries !!

Here is a headline I woke upo today:"Quote"

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/STIMULUS-WATCH-Unemployment-apf-1338954644.html?x=0

The jobless got a hand. Taxpayers got tax breaks. And a sinking economy stabilized.

But the public's response to President Barack Obama's recession-fighting policies has been increasingly dreary. And the reason is simple: six months of unemployment above 9.6 percent."Unquote"

America has along way to go before we are all back to work,When a skilled pump operator with years of work experinece has a hard time finding a job we know we have trouble on this side of the fence.

Good luck to anyone looking for work right now...

propaganda, unemployment is drawing a check there is another 10% not looking or self employed like me not working. contruction workers is off at least 40% when you have plumbers wanting to swing a hammer for $15- bucks an hour.

Im not going to argue with you on this subject ,and I never spread "propaganda" Im very careful in what I post on this website.I just posted what I personally see and I backed it up with a news article I read this morning.

But when I have a son who recently became unemployed and tells me it is almost impossible to find a job right now, and I have many many talented friends who also are unemployed and they tell me the same thing. Then I have to take notice that something is not as it seems in our job market right now.

I have a positive attitude that our economy will come back, and  all I was saying is we have a long road to haul before I or us will feel comfortable again with our economy.

A spot of sunshine does not denote a sunny day kinda thing .

We can learn alot from boom inspector. Its about keeping your head up. I was out of work for over a year and a half and I was one that put everything into my work. I just found a job 1000 miles away from my family but I'm going back to work doing what I love. I had to do Job i HATED AND MADE PEANUTS but I made it and will continue to for me and my family. So when you think everything is over, think again about how resiliant the human can be when you have to. Not just for my family but for the industry. GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY BROTHERS OUT THERE AND REMEMBER KEEP BOOMING UP :}

"GET R DONE" * say it with the growl of Larry the cable guy*

Staying positive thru adversity is the key to survival in this job market. Good for you on finding a job, it sounds like it must be a pretty good one also to get you to move so far away ? Same thing happened to me in 2001 , thats how I ended up In Penn state . So far it has been a great experience and with cheap cell phones it is still very easy to stay in contact with extended family members ya know.
