Our prayers for his family and friends and a great loss to the Concrete Pumping industry. I heard that Gary passed away this last weekend. Gary was a great man, loved and trusted in this industry. Gary was a good man. The world is a colder place with out him.

They don't come any better than Gary. He will be missed by many customers and friends in the pumping industry. Gary started on Thomsens working with his Dad Joe. He finished his career with Putzmeister for the past 15+ years. Putzmeister should be commended for the way they treated Gary during this difficult past year. All companies should follow Putzmeister's example of how to treat their employees. Likewise, all employees should follow Gary's example. It was a two way street.

Thank You Todd for posting this tribute.

It was an experience of a lifetime to get to know Gary, I met him when I started at Putzmeister and we became immediate friends, His approach to life and the industry we both serve in was an example I will take with me for the rest of my life. I especially learned to appreciate his approach to every one he worked with, his customers were first friends then customers, and he felt privileged to be able to help them grow and suffered with them when things went wrong.

I have been told that there are people that suffer grave illness, some spend the time wishing they had done life different. Gary never regretted his time with us the “work” was a great part of his life and he stated to me that his regret over the last year was not being able to do more for us all.

My deepest Sympathy’s go out to his family, they have lost some one very dear to them and they will no doubt morn the loss deeply.

The Industry will also morn with them.

Gary: Thank You for allowing me to be your friend and workmate, please rest you will never be forgotten.

Alan

I also met Gary when I started at Putzmeister.  I'm surprised I didn't meet him sooner, because Gary's dad, Joe, was a sort of mentor, to me, in the early seventies.

I did not get to work with Gary, as much as Alan did, but working with him was fun.  No one gained more respect, from customers and co-workers, than Gary.

We all will miss him greatly.

I also knew Gary for a great many years & feel the same way about him that each of his friends & coworkers do. I met Gary during those 'Thomsen days' when I started in this industry. His big smile...always a welcomed sight that I will forever remember him by. There are few like Gary in this world...& one fewer now. He'll be missed, but never forgotten as far as I'm concerned.

My deepest sympathy to his family for their loss as this happens close to these holidays coming up; I know it will be a tough time.

God speed Gary!
