Do you grease all of your swivel gaskets?

Are using the infamous putz swivel with the tongue...?  Cuz if not, they'll leak for ever...

I have noticed when changing my swivels, if I try and use a normal swivel gasket from ConForms(w/o the very small tongue) the elbows aren't tight.... Anyone else experience this??  Seems like the clamps on Putzs HAVE to HAVE that special tongue PUTZ gasket...  With the proper gasket I haven't had a problem,  Approx. 4000 yds and using same gaskets.....Sounds wierd but its true... Anyone else????

i've found that a conforms cavity gasket with grease packed in it works good... if you are doing a lot of system pours, you are going to shorten the life of whatever swivel gasket you use i've found

i use regular small tongue gaskets grease ,dont really have any problems, those red gaskets very expensive and they do not seem to last that much longer to justify the xtra expense

Grease your gaskets and i put a little oil in my tip elbow before i fold up.  It really helps to keep it from siezing up as fast.

Make sure that the elbows line up correctly is #1 in how to get good service life out of your gaskets.

Tip elbows should be knocked off, cleaned and greased whenever they get tight.

The type of elbows can also cause premature wear on gaskets.  Some cast elbows out there have 'as cast' ends which are rough & as they rotate they tend to 'chew-up' the ID of the gasket.  If the gaskets are 'cheapos' they can go really fast.  Times are tough & labor is expensive...Hmm sounds like a quality gasket can be cheaper in the long-run than the cheapo...you think? Grease can help but smooth fittings with a quality gasket are the best answer in my opinion.

BTW, 'those expensive red gaskets' aren't really that much more expensive than the regular gaskets Pudge.  New tool a couple years ago which created a new price.
