I'm currently puming on a 58 strory hi -rise, my partner and I were wondering if anybody has used a go-devil and if they actually clean the pipe as good as they say.  right now were pushing 7 differnt sponges and about 250 gallons of water its very clean after every pour but there has to be a less time consuming way.(take about 45 min) Were only on the 4th level right now, and only going higher, just tring to save some time off the customers bill that's all.

Brutus,

MAN - You must have the cleanest pipes in the world; congratulations. And..... if it aint broke, don't fix it. I love your program, but the higher you get the less time you will have for blow out. Lets just say you are on the 40th floor, and doing a colum pour at a rate of 1- 3/4yd column every 15 mins. How long has the concrete in the top most pipe been in the line???

Your way is obviously working, but you are going to need to figure out a faster way. When the time to do it NOW shows up..... well, that is the wrong time to see if there is a faster way. YES, a godevvil works like a champ, Especially the short ones. You need to talk to a guy like PumpcoJoe; he has all the information you need. Send him an email from his profile here on the site. Give him your phone #, talk to him or someone about what it is you are doing.

If you need help call me; preferably durring the week. I will help you. Make sure that whoever it is you talk to KNOWS what he is talking about. Get your info from someone that has DONE IT. Not someone that just wants to talk.

Good luck & Be Careful

Here is a little more info.  We started 100 feet below ground level.  We're using a putz 40m quick detach, the truck right now is the pump, and the boom is freestanding on 80 feet of tower.  When we get to street level we are replacing the truck with a bsa 14000 trailer pump.  we're 3 floors away from street level.  We're also using a blowout mix at the end of every pour, plus it is sent about 2/3 of the way of completion on every pour so were not waiting on it.  they do send enough it purges the whole line.  then we blow one sponge into the mixer, let him go,(we're going to start using a catcher ) then switch the diversion valve and blow one more sponge(all 8 inch square)  then we insert a sponge into the pipeline, and put a sponge in the rear of the blowout cap.  Our blow out cap is rigged to take a water hose which is a portable 250 gallon tank with it's own motor and pump.  hook up the water and add 100-150 gallons, blow that and repeat, after switching the diversion valve back to the blow out stand.  then last we put a 5 inch hard ball all by itself.  Like I said the line is very clean no grout left over to settle over night. just trying to find a less time consuming way.
