I've been reading the concrete pumping mags. and saw a ad for go devils and how great they work. I was just wondering if they were worth it? |

The Go Devils vs. the Sponge Balls... Man I thought this was some sort of pumping sporting event. Ha Ha! Depends on if you're sucking or blowing? If you plan on sucking back a go-devil you better have good gaskets and wet mud and you also run the risk of chopping the investment in half (literally) If you plan to blow out with a go-devil get a pig-catcher so you dont have to dig through the concrete to rescue your go-devil. I like using one sponge ball + 5 gallons of water + another sponge ball. I have a 30" blow-out cap (pipe) that I can pre-load for blow down. Ball-water-ball, clamp it up and air on.... clean system. Just dont let my balls hit you in the chin when I blow-out! (Yes I'm a dirty Bastard) Beware of "single cell" foam or sponge material that air blows right through. I check every new sponge I get by trying to blow air through it, if I can its garbage and wont suck back or blow out!!! |

I think go devile work great for blowing down but round ball sponge or square sponge for sucking back all the way. I also agree bigger booms pull 2 back with water in between. |

Hey TT: With a s*** sponge I make a finger size hole and put dishwashing soap in it. Soak it in a bucket of water and squeeze it before using it. Works great and easy to clean! |
