Goodbye Les Ainsworth and Pumpco.

I just wanted to say goodbye to Les Ainsworth and to Pumpco. I got a call the other day from another company but the caller id said Pumpco. It was kind of sad.

I started working with Pumpco and Les specifically  in 1998 when I design and hosted his web site. You can still see the original site that I did for him at http://www.pumpco.com The reason it looks so grainy is the digital images have degraded over the years. We did that site back in 1998 and the main page has not changed one bit, look at the trade mark at the bottom of the page. 1998 to 2007

He also advertised on ConcretePumping.com from 1998 to 2007.
I was always happy to have his support.

I know we have not seen the last of Les maybe a Pumpco2 someday.

If you are interested in more info on Les and Pumpco go to this link, http://www.concretepumping.com/dictionary/index.php/Ainsworth_Les

Though I only worked for Les for a lttle over 4 years and he was a man that I learned to respect very quickly.  This is so sad to think that Les took this company from being a 1 pump company to have nearly 200 pumps and employing hundreds through the years, to this.  I  feel so sorry for him, the lack of respect that is now being shown for him, because of the actions of others.

Les, thanks for the years and the knowledge and guidance,   I gained while working with you. May god bless you and Kate during this next chapter of you life.

Thank you

Stephanie

Dose anyone really know what happend? I would think that a company as big as that would be able to make it. I feel bad for all of the people that lost there jobs and hope everything works out.

If you liked Les or not, what he has done in the past will always be remembered,he is and was a one the forefathers in this industry. He started with nothing and made something,it is easy for some to kick a dog when he is down, but when that dog gets up,be careful he dont bite you in the ass.He help alot of people in his years at Pumpco, and if you ar somewhere now,you are proably using som of what you learned from Les and Pumpco.

The success that I have enjoyed in this industry is due, in large part, from all that I learned working for Les from 1980 through 1983. I have disagreed with him many times over the years but  he will always have my utmost respect. Good luck Les, enjoy the rest of the journey.

I have had the honor to work for Pumpco.  I think that would be the only company that I have enjoyed working  for, besides my family. They treated me great.

I took a trip to Wyoming and when I came back, there was no more Pumpco.  Les did well for years and he's probably doing it for a good reason.  There really is no work anywhere.
