Okay got this job been helping a contractor get his numbers rite on and they get the job, I have about 6 weeks of time invested, and they bring in some guys from another project and they start using another pump company that cut prices to the point of nothing being made on the whole job,so I talk to a buddy of mine that was working there yesterday, the foreman over this pour ,and this operator uses bricks as dunnage then tells all the guys dont get under this boom I think it may turn over,WHAT THE F#CK, I wouldve sent him packing but not my call, what happened to safety ? now if I had a idea I might be about to turn one over wouldnt you shut it down and get some proper dunnage ? I would and have many times, anyhow this morning I get a call go to a meeting this morning with the project manager and he tells me we are gonna do all the big pours and let these guys have the little pours and me being me I tell him thats not gonna cut it its either all or nothing,if they cant trust them with the big ones why would you even have them on your job,and also I had to cut my rates when the job was bid and it was with the understanding we was gonna do all we could handle thats the reason for all or nothing,it just seems to me that safety is getting thrown out in these hard times and prices are the key I know we have to work but at what cost and what risk ? |

Wow pudg that sucks. If what your saying is true and you can document that is a 100% valid claim to osha.As for the pricing? It was bid with the express idea for 100% of the pumping, they violated that agreement.Raise your rates to sheet price. |

let them have the small jobs, let them flip thier pump. you bid the job and they want changes raise the rates or just do the regular billing. have them sign a new work order before you pump each job and pencil in prompt payment with late fees so when they run out of money or T-bone the job you making some extra so you be the prority to pay. iam sure tired of helping people that want to snip my nuts but thats how it is. sales class taught me the moment you spit out the price your done and they can go shop you. |

Pudg being a realist and businessman that you are it sucks to have a conscience and morals. All or nothing is the right call....you share the job and the other company has a problem and shuts down the job they(GC) starts losing money and you probably wont get paid for the good job that you provided... |
