Whats that contraption after the transit i see something with hydraulic lines on the pipe at the back of the deck. Is it some kind of shut off device? |

Hi WHO?? you are right, I had a quick look on Schwing America site, it does look a lot like a US S41, in fact both pumps look almost the same but in the Boom Specifications the s39 has 38.5 m (126-4') Vertical reach and 34.7 m (114) Horizontal reach, and the s41 has 41m (132' - 10") Vertical reach and 36.5 m (120') Horizontal Reach but has the same outrigger configuration and spread. I am pretty sure the paper work for the pump says it’s a s39, but it sure would be handy to have the extra 2m sometimesJ |

hammah, the contraption after the transit is a chamber valve or kung foo as we refer to them, I don’t know if you have them in the accessories list in the US, it has a hydraulic ram which slides a chamber across and like you said shuts off the concrete, but it also has air and water connected so, when you are ready to pump, slide valve across and open water tap to chamber and switch the water pump on remote on, slide valve back and pump ON, when you have finished pumping, pump the hopped down, pump 1 or 2 strokes in reverse, which relives the pressure of the pump on the chamber valve, put a ball or sponge in the chamber and slide valve across, remove drop hose and any reducers and place 5” ball catcher on the tip 90, turn air compressor on the remote ON and wait for sponge, because the valve on my pump is mounted on the deck you do have to suck a sponge back to clear the last couple of pipes between the valve and swing 90 but on some pumps they are mounted just after swing 90 which eliminates having to suck back. |
