looking pretty bad rite now for us,I dont know if New Orleans will survive this one,we are a lot better prepared since Katrina,we are just starting to get the first bands at 8 pm sunday,by morning we should really be feeling it,hope the storm surge doesnt hit N.O. full force the levees will never hold we still have electricity and all utilities for now I will give updates if my laptop continues working but we will survive and rebuild again thanks for the thoughts and prayers talk to yall later

no im staying im not on the coast about 80 miles north i have never ran from a storm where i live not opposed to it but i feel some need to stay and help the ones that dont have anywhere else to go may not be the smartest thing to do but the old people poor people handicapped if they need help someone has to stay

I am in Lafayette. I suppose the strom will hit tonight. (Monday sept 1 08) No rain as of yet just wind.

80 miles north of the louisiana coastline

it is 11:20 am seeing about 50 mile per hour winds we still have electricity a few trees have been  blown over nothing to serious yet,and it seems that New Orleans was a little better prepared than what I thought, they say by 4 pm we will have seen the worst

I just read that it moved to the West a bit, and every little bit helps. You are still on the dirty side of the storm but it wont nail N O directly.

  Hurricanes suck..Once the media is finished with their little joy ride,people will feel sorry for the people of Louisiana,for a while,and in a month many people of this great country will go back to trash mouthing the Beautiful city of New Orleans and its surrounding parishes.A warped media ride........
