Well guys I've made my mind up, Im gonna hang up the remote. My company puts me on the road and I'm always away from home, Im ready to start a life and family sometime soon so I gotta do what I gotta do. Im gonna miss it, I love this industry, but I'm tired of putting my job in front of the things that mean the most to me. I think I'm gonna finish getting all my pilot ratings and maybe get a job flying, one of the things I truely love to do. I'll keep you all updated on my move and what I will be doing. Thank you all for everything you have done to help me out, you guys are a great bunch of people. |

Don't quit your pumping job until you have replaced your income! That is the oldest trick in the book pumpers fall for(burnout)! Recovering sucks! Most every one is starving! If you are on the road making dough I would keep it! Getting another job could be diffcult right now! Anyway, Good luck with what ever you do and flying may take you a bit further than this industry LOL. Seed |

I have been on the road for months at a time and it is tough, but flying is gonna be the same,if your burnt out on pumping its time for a break, and flying if that is what you love go for it but I dont think you will be home anymore than you are now, but, best of luck in whatever you do and hope you will still log on time to time and let us know how you are doing,Good luck |

I love flying too. Alot more than pumping concrete! Pumping paid for all my ratings. I quit and went out to tackle the skies. Gave flight instruction for a year then got my first "real" flying job hauling checks in a twin cessna. I lucky im still alive. Two years later I was flying regionals. Two more years and guess what? I was pumping concrete. Flying for hire is not that glamorous. I slept in the back of airplanes, flew in weather that the airplane (or myself) had no business being in all for very little pay. It was fun when I was single but then I got married. 4-5 days a week in a hotel, most weekends and EVERY holiday wore really hard on me. Not trying to talk you out of it, you can always come back to pumping. But if you think you will be at home every night, think again! Good Luck. Aviation is kinda gloomy right now. |
