Have you ever had a mixer slam into the assend of your pump........... HARD?

Being hit hard...hmmm - what's your definition of hard?

Would breaking the vibrator off the grate count?  ...or shearing the handle of the clamp off where the 6"-5" meets the deck pipe count?  ...or ripping the slpatter shield completely off?  ...or putting a crease into a hopper lid so bad that it won't close...

I've never been hit hard enough to move the pump off the blocks though...

It's funny, this stuff never happens when I back the trucks to the pump.  It's when the QC guy or one of the redi-mix drivers backs one up.

depth perception?

Had a mixer run off a ramp in SF. It tore the hopper off my 52m at the end of a 375 yard 5th floor deck pour and absolutely destroyed it. It was a long rock pump and I kept it going by filling up what was left while the carpenters built a box to set over the valve. We ran come-alongs under the pump to hold it down and finished up,but the cleanup was horrible!

I had a guy push a heavy-weight 36 right off the pads while he was backing UP HILL! Stuffed my hopper shroud into the cradle and nearly ripped my hopper off. While I watched and screamed bloody murder from 100' away. He figured he could back himself in!!!

I made a piont of taking an hour to re-set (gave the guy time to think) The divers name was Tod. From that day forward he's been known as Re-Tod (sorry Todd). To this day I still toss a chunk of dunnage down whenever I see him... Just to remind him who he's backing up to.

I had a driver back into my hopper( just a dent) and knocked my 36m off its blocks. I had added dunnage for heighth on the front. The driver was trying to kick the truck out of gear without using a clutch while backing downhill, it didn't work, Yes Raymond, another Glacier stunt. I was a little upset, told him to call his truck boss and get him to the job. The truck boss was about as brain dead as the driver was. I was boomed out to my right side and the framers were near the boom, all of a sudden the boom moved and they ran. Kind of funny now.

Had a mixer driver back in without anyone directing him, and when he hit the pump sheared off all the backsplash bolts & knocked the backsplash completely off. Then he proceeded to ask me "Are you sure it wasn't already like that?"

Had my old 28 down in hole and ramp built for mixers to keep chute all the way down pumping 1/2 slump mix.  New girl driver went to pull away and put truck in reverse tore off hopper and ended up on top of pump.  lucky no one was between hopper and mixer.

About twice a month some r.m. driver will hit my discharge pipe and knock it out of alignment. No real damage but damn, they are a bitch to get back together after clean out!! I'm truely convinced that r.m. drivers are as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Years ago, I worked for a pump co who had a fleet of c 30's. R/M driver grabbing his clip board knocked his booster switch, while still backed up to the pump. Booster axle smashed/broke off hopper and destroyrd this little c-30. It was a sight to behold(I am told ) to see a r/m truck with all 8 about four foot in the air.surprisingly the driver still had a job.(?)
