Tell us about your "softside" tip hose program. Is it all about ICF pours or can it be used to pour it out? Do you rinse it out and roll it up? What is the pressure rating?

Inquiring minds want to know. ;~)

For ICF's this set up is the best I've run. It's a 3" flexible hose that collapses around the concrete at slow speeds.

It comes in a 300' roll - but you can make 30 hoses with it. You just have to attach the hose to a 3" coupling...and you're rolling.

At the low speeds ICF's are poured - the 200psi is adequate. It gets a little stressed if they kink the hose without allowing the boom to drain out - but if you keep an eye on the hose guy you can keep that under contol. Not a high volume hose!

I've never had one blow and I've never had ANY complaints.

For residential foundations and flatwork applications I use a similar hose but 4" in diameter. The way the hose collapses around the concrete eliminates splatter (95% anyway) so the flat workers love 'em because the structure and any other work near the discharge point isn't covered in splatter. The foundation guys like 'em because of the lack of splatter and I like 'em because it eliminates a 4-3" reducer and the plugging that goes along with it. Some foundation guys like to pour a little faster than what a 3" discharge hose needs to be going - but not quite fast enough to fill a 3.5" or 4" hose...so this hose is perfect because you can hit those awkward speeds that would normally splatter the heck out of everything...PLease keep in mind, my location is the pacific northwest - we have really good, pumpable concrete.  Foundation guys here like a 3" discharge hose but we're trying to break them of it.  So please spare me the "you guys don't know what you're doing running 3" gear - we only run 5" gear --blah-blah-blah"  i've heard it here enough and it gets old -

Bob asked, so I'm supplying some info.

..again, not high YPH hoses...these are not for 'POURING IT OUT'  this is for the idiots that like S-hooks because they pour so slow it's plop-plop-fizz-fizz...

...and yes, Bob...wash 'em out and roll 'em up when you're done.

Is that a Keith Richards deal?

I think that a good ICF mix anywhere, even here in Hotlanta can be easily pumped with a 4" hose. You just piddle the crete out anyway and the delivery is always staged.

Got Pics?????

Keith Richards??

I think he wouldn't have the brain power to come up with anything like this after all the drugs and such with the Stones...

..."If you start me up..., if you start me up I'll never stop..."

; )

Nice looking coupling. Do you supply the hose nipple and HD end and they supply the ferrule or what, how does that work?

I'll have to do some follow up.  I just took the info off the hoses themselves and googled...and ended up with the links.  No hose manufacture offers these, so I'm assuming that the hose material was obtained in bulk from GoodYear and the other company and then turned into hoses through a secondary party.  I do like the coupling.  It's not just pushed onto an end and then fastened with 3 or 4 big hose clamps...that's no good...

These just show up on a pallet and no one really asks who, what, where...etc.  Wear one out, grab another...and so on.

The thing that makes me nervous is having the hose split about face level and canceling someones eye sight.

If there was a... skirt or cover, like a loose cover, sort of like your scattershield you use on the ass end of the pumps to contain a blowout perhaps that would make it safer to use.

Just thinking out loud here..............

The splitting issue is resolved by placing a 4" over a 3" or 6" over a 4" with a big hose clamp atleast thats what we did.
