Hey guys I run a putz with the fold down hopper lid. The hopper lights have been destroyed by ready mix drivers. What is the best brand to replace them with. I was thinking of going to tractor supply and getting some tractor lights. Would they hold up to the water etc? Thanks Russ |

Look closely and you can see the General Lee jumping across the creek. Rural Farm to market road near Paris Texas. |

Two bags of Austin white lime--I actually was able to get the pump out. 20 seconds of rain==1 hour of muddy work |

Slow mud service made this little bit of paving take almost 8 hours. |

hi russ, i also have a putz with a folding down lid and have yet lose a lamp due to mixer drivers, have you tried mounting them on the lid it`s self so that they are at the very top of the lid ( out of reach of mixer drivers ) but make sure that they don`t chace the hopper skirt when shut... dave (uk) |

Dave, Very good advice. The factory mounts are in a pretty good position near the top. However we have some mixer drivers that must have rode the short bus to school. You can tell I am frustrated with them. Sad thing is the guys who tour them up are from the plant I run ot of. They are all good friends. It just one more thing to fix. We all know about that. Hats off Dave Russ (N. Texas) |

Bisely, I finally found some today at Napa auto parts. About 15 bucks a piece. I just need to find time to mount them. Thanks for the info. Hats off to speed for the suggestion. Russ

Speedy, That is a great idea. Makes it much easier to see and keep the lights out of the water and slurry during washout. Russ |

Hey guys The napa lights lasted the 1 hour drive home from the shop but did not work on the first job I needed them for. Apparently they do not hold up well to the vibration. Go figure. I guess we need to spend the money on the high dollar lights. Russ |

Hi Russ, the first time i replaced a light on the hopper door on my putz I didnt realize they were 24v. It burned out immediately. I had to special order them from a truck repair shop. After that no trouble. |
