It is not technically ok, but neither is short rigging. The operator should put some timber chocks between the spring pack and chassis rail before he starts, otherwise he runs the risk of breaking the leaves of the spring pack or very least deforming the leaves.

Way to much stress on the front end of the truck. Maybe ok for putz but not for the truck manufacture.

Haha funny thing is I had a customer tell me a few months ago I was hard to work with because I wouldn't do this very thing with my 39 Meter Scwhing in order to save time on moving the pump. Apparently he is used to operators caving in and doing it his way at whatever cost.

On a Cifa 31-5Z this is approved by manufacturer is it not?  Any chance of other pumps being designed to make this okay?

Not sure about cifa, the pump frame can prob handle this kind of thing but the trucks aren't designed for it.

It is ok if the truck was designed to do it, both our Schwing 31HT's have special twin steer front axles rated at 9ton(18000lbs) for this very purpose.
