I'm guessing he's set up far enough off of a cut on the working side to be safe (1 to 1 rule) and there is an obstacle on the non-working side and that is most likely the only access point for the redi-mix trucks to get by - so the riggers have to be in to allow passage. Again, this is only my guess - if anyone has a good reason to be set up a certain way, it's gonna be OE3. |

OE - 3 Glad your 'puter is back on track, we missed ya. Bit of a discussion going; an important one I think. Do you wash out with the grate open or closed??? Inquiring minds want to know. ;~) |

Bob,
Good to be back ! I washout with the grate down. If I need to Chip out I will take it out of PTO, But leave the truck running so I can utilize my air supply. Alot of times I will finish her up at the yard. We have everything available where we service like air, pressure washer , soap, etc. I had a friend about 10 years ago just about Rip his leg off while washing out. the water hose hooked the agitator lever, and well you can figure out what happened next. It is a memory I will never forget.
Ray, Thanks for explaining my short side pic. :-)

if the grate is always down how do you do scraping, and rubbing, thats what it takes to keep your hopper clean, and I have seen oe3s hopper and I just dont see how it can be that clean without lifting the grate, unless your taking it out of pto and doing the cosmetics at the yard,we dont do that it comes back to the yard the way it left, clean, thats the way I was taught, now I do think taking it out of pto is a very good practice and that will be put into my routine, you cant ever be to safe.By the way welcome back oe3. |
