How many Pumps??

I am trying to find out how many pumps there are out there.  Could you all give me your best guess as to how many there are for the country or state or region that you live/work in.  How you've come to this number would be help full as well.  This is some early market research for some pump products I am trying to design.

Our company has 17 boom pumps and 1 Trailer Pump in Virginia. I know of at least 12 pump companies in the Richmond, Lynchburg and Virginia Beach area. They are everywhere!! LOL

Off the top of my head I can count 60+ pumps in the northern half of NJ.
