you know those kinds of pump/mixer combo's are cool as heck and it was fun watching this untill the operator did that with the ball sponge. I know if everything is operating as it should, when he lifts the grate it is supposed to stop the pump . But knowing what I know about these pumps this kind of practice is a potential accident waiting to happen. So to answear your question :Nope it is not safe to do what this operator demonstrated |

boom inspector- this is a rotary, with the grill up , the agitators off there is nothing that you can catch your hands on, its the same as puting the ball up the hose and sucking back, its just suction. All the moving parts to the pump are in the drum which is sealed. Ran one of these for a while and they are the cleanest pump around- zero mess if you want. |

Yea I understand what ya mean Murf, but there is always 'that one time" when things go bad.Nothing wrong with just useing a peice of rebar to push it in , But operators know the risk so if you understand the hazard then you can deal with the problem .But those are very interesting pumps and the video was still fun to watch for me .

Mr wibau | 12-29-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
hey guys, yeah that is a normal practice on a wibau, i would just fill it with water after he had put the ball in then pump it right through. there is no need to suck back. pineos pumpin yes that is the same as a squzzie just newer. squeezie, wibau, pumi all the same just different ages and technology. |
