Yawn. Govtrack.us gives this bill a 2% chance to pass committee, 1% chance to be enacted. Just trading one tax for another. IOW, it will die before it gets out of committee. |

Yes this bill will expire with this congress. However, geting it submitted with co-sponsors makes it that much easier to get reintroduced in the next session. Boom pumps burn an average of 55% of their fuel off road (in PTO) but pay road taxes on 100% of the fuel they buy. Sound fair to you 180? |

Doug, I only commented on the chance of passage, not the fairness of the US tax code. There are many unfair parts of the current tax code. As I stated, this bill will likely die in commitee long before reaching the Presidents desk. Whether the US tax code and it's treatment of Concrete pumps is fair or not is a separate issue. And no. I don't think any off road vehicle should have to pay road taxes, including your dirt bike. |
