Should we support this site or should I stay away from it, who would I upset? by suporting this site? Do you think his motives are centered on the truth? This message was edited by Todd on 6-28-05 @ 6:14 AM

let time under God run its course in this matter.keep it up. many have seen utility poles, fire hydrant and mail boxes appear as men on corner... due to sleep deprevation. or the 1 to 1 rule over ridden by buisness proprietor, or new-bees on booms to large for experience and character. it`s just a devil called greed and compromise. starts with the job site superintendent`s demands instilling fear to pump companies and operator that some one else will get the contract i.e. job. innocence fears not only the gulity! :)

He sorta seems like a trouble maker. Not sure if this is what our industry needs. Could be wrong...he may mean perfectly well...but the off the top of my head answer would be no....more trouble than it would be worth to you.Jamie

I personally, was somewhat moved by the site, Had alot of thoughts go through my mind. I thought the site was somewhat enlightning and educational. Not too many things grab me enough to spend alot of time the next day thinking about it. Even had to turn down a costomer request today as i was sincere with my answer as i remembered. For someone that has questions about focus, costomer requests, setup procedures and so on, i would recommend directing them to the site. But as to have it as a link with concrete.com wouldnt be as i feel to your best interest. I realize the more info on this site is important for the quest of always informing the industy with up to the minute news and information, But no, Lets leave fair pump alone. Too much on the negetive side. It does have its impotance though, dont get me wrong. Lets all work together to better this site in other ways. And thats my $5.25 worth. (inflation)I cant get no satisfaction ~!

THE FOLLOWING IS STRICTLY A HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIOlet me get this straight....If I pump, say, a line pump job for a regular customer account with his small crew and I operate the end of the hose for him .....then later that day I pump another job for another guy down the street and he has a large crew who runs the end of the hose themselves and they help me clean up and load my hoses, so, I give that cash paying customer a price break for all their help...later that night at the local tavern the two guys get to talking and figure out the first guy paid more for his pump service than the other guy.....customer #1 can log on to fairpump.com and rat me off for unfair business practice; i.e. charging less....not reporting cash etc.etc. and put me on some government watchdog list- red flagged for audit?I SMELL A RATM.Y.O.B.let he who is without sin cast the first stoneclean up your own yardIf you, as an employee, dont like the way your boss treats you ,go find another job....its that simpleAnd if you,as a pump owner, feel your being under bid....let your superior service sell it self....it wont take long for your customers to realise that cut-throat pumpers give cut-rate service with crackhead operators running junk machines!!!it is really that simple!!!as for fairpump.com I guess thats a no from melive to pumppump to live

We charge different customers different ratesNAPA charges different customers different rates. There is no collusion or conspiracy. Just BID-NEZ.Price fixing and other obvious law-breaking practices are typically not part of our industry. If they are prevalent, well, someone might get busted, so what. A small pump company having an alliance with another pumping company will not get anyone brought up on RICO charges.(truthful) Information is power. Read everything you can.pour it out ;)

I think we all know how to find the site if we want information from it. By supporting it, you, as a business owner, support everything that comes from the site. That can be dangerous in any business.

This has nothing to do with Home Depot.Lets try this one.Lets say a supplier like RMC wants to control the foundation and slab business in a market. So they take a customer who they have interest in and give them concrete for two years for free so they can underbid everyone in town by 40%.How many foundations and slab business do you know that could survive that in your market? Is that fair? So what is the difference?Do you think superior service is going to prevail? That would mean on a 20k project they would only need to bid 12k where every one elese in town is at 20k. How long could your customers survive?
