I had a friend call me and ask if I knew anything about when hyd oil gets injected into the skin. I told him to get to the emergency room right away beacause this can cause a bad infection. I then told him I would look up the 800 number for John Deere and text it to him because many doctors do not know how to deal with this emergency. It took me a long time to find the number and I just wanted to share it with all of you.

1-800-822-8262 be careful out there.

Yes he needs to go to the hospital ASAP. Here are some links and pictures.

Here is a very small wound and it can cause so much damage.

A hydraulic fluid injection is perhaps the most dangerous injury that can result from a hydraulic hose failure. One reason is that it can appear benign at the beginning so it often gets dismissed as not urgent and medical care is postponed. Another reason is that injected hydraulic oils are highly toxic - so in addition to a physical cut or stab, they literally poison you.

The most important things to remember: NEVER touch a pressurized hose with your hand and if you suspect an injection injury has occured, get to an emergency room right away!

I dont understand how this happens. how close do you have to be to a line? and are these good lines that are bursting or ones that needed to be replaced.
