How many of you were affected by Ike? I am in cincinnati and I went 2 days with no power. Alot of traffic lights are still out and a couple hundred thousand people are still without power. Trees down everywhere. It was fun getting the pumps out of the barn today pulling the clutches on the gates and the doors in the dark at 4 AM. |

I am glad that you are alive to do that. I am awed by the destruction. Ike was a real deal event. The only positive is that the extra 10 feet of tide surge predicted did not show up. |

here in upstate new york sunday night into monday was interesting. We had some large timber take out some power lines one of which landed on a invisible fence and then back fed into the house electrifying the whole house and yard, causing our fire department to just stand and wait for the power company. Our power was only out for about 16hrs, which was not to bad. |

If i had parked my car in the normal spot it would have either been crushed or damn near crushed but something made me park it across the street. The boss mans house had 2 trees fall taking out alot of privacy fence and almost landing on his bedroom. It was definitely interesting I have never seen anything like it around here |

Hey Too Tall, Joe, 3 and all the other guys out here on the "left coast", makes you appreciate how good we really have it out here when we see how this effects everyone else around the country... You guys are all in our thoughts and prayers. I know I would much rather live with the threat of a 6.0 or larger quake than know what was barrelling down on top of us. Good luck in your recovery efforts guys. Big T Hey Too Tall, gave your number to Kirkland today, expect a call... he wants to go snowboarding again...LOL |

I hear you T I have a lot of respect for everybody back east and they say we are crazy for being out here with the quakes but heck we never feel 80% of them every year they get hammered back there. Right wrong or in different this as far as I am concerned this will always be the right coast. All The luck to everybody back east and south and everywhere in between. |

Extreme weather is no fun. BUT You usually get some warning and for the most part you can decide to either stay or go. You left coast guys and your earthquakes are a different story. Unless you are standing right next to your helicopter when the earth starts to move you could have a problem. And a question for you; when is earthquake season over? ;~) |
