Everyone needs to.....stop and take a good look around once in a while, because with the speed this old rock is turning too much is passing us by and after it's gone there's no getting it back....(sigh)

(1)Make sure you look after the costomers you have and make sure they are happy...even if that means approching them and saying that if they are pricing a big job that they can count on you to help get the price down.....before your competition does....but dont mention price just make it known to them that in these times you can be flexable.(2)dont worry about your competition put all that free "mind time" into your business and come up with ways to cut cost but not your service. One of the small operators here has halved his fuel bill by leaving his trucks onsite when posible...he has to do some running around, but he was surprised on how much he is saving.

times are tough i am just a button pusher but watch what the other guys are doing and is it working, and yes get prices up, but keep in mind not everyone in your market is going to go up with you, some may leave you out there with much higher prices, therefore screwing yourself. also yes go see your dad if you can, i lost my dad in march, i still can't seem to get my head straight, should have spent more time with him before, don't let the hectic life style that this industry creates, do your job to the best of you abilities, take pride in what you do, but remember, it is just a job, you could get another one, but i only had one dad.

Well as I see it those who provided great service when times were good will stand better, than those who provided mediocre service. I know that has been the case for our division of the company. Many of those who cut rates during the good times are now unable to keep up that practice, which is helping us alot now.

 on the political side so long as people keep thinking in terms of the two parties, this country will be stuck in the neverending cycle of corruption and, economic woe. The two parties only serve themselves and, no longer serve the people. If you really want to see true change look at putting third parties in, in 2010. The Libertarians or, Constitution Party are two of the good ones. What sending thirds in next cycle would send the message we are tired of both of you. If you merely change out form one of the two parties is that they believe people agree with them and, then they puff their chest out and, dont get a clue. The current two need a wake up call.

Rob W, you're not actually going to claim that your union is broke because of Bush are you?  You guys are broke because 401Ks and company benefits are better than the unions because companies realized that offering better benefits is worth it if it keeps the union out of their business.  All your pension plan is is a pyramid scheme, when employees become more well informed and leave the union, you're f$$c#ed and are going to have to go find an actual job (instead of just stealing from your flock).  So, yeah, everyone vote democratic because the Dems will make sure that you don't have a choice and have to pay the union (whether you want to or not), and Rob can continue with his legal theft.  Rob, you should change your screen name to Madoff.
