I screwed up today

After pumping for 12 hours in the cold and dark I folded up my 47m and went and washed up then went to pull inside the door I have been using for the last 3 weeks-and the boom hit the over head door. The 2nd section was lifted 6 inches or so.

I must not have lowered it completely-totally my fault,at least no one was injured only my ego and the door and building. I got out my routine-I was cold, tired and had too many people in my face at the wrong time.

Moral: No matter how tired or busy you are always double check the little things.

Thanks so much for sharing with us. I wish we had more humble people like yourself. You care more about others than you do about being a bit embarrassed. Thanks again.

There is an operator here in Dry-lanta that has a system that will cure that problem.

EVERY time he washes out he puts both rear outriggers out - and down. He then raises his boom 10 feet out of the saddle.

I asked him about this once and his reply was; "Even I am not dumb enough to forget to stow everything if I have to duck under my outriggers to get back into the cab."

It has worked for him for 17 years, and has made who knows how much money over the years deploying and stowing the boom and outriggers.   WIN - WIN ;~)

Thanks Pumpermike, I'll keep you in mind. It's a little hard to relocate right now but I might be forced to. Job conditions in Michigan aren't very good ATM LOL.
