I still live in America and I thank God we can stand infront of our accuser.

Yesterday I went to court to fight a moving violation, a ticket, left turn on green. The cop said I turned infront of on coming traffic. The traffic was stopped and I did not imppeed traffic.

It is a great please to have the right to stand infront of your accuser and plead your case infront of a judge. After all was said and done I was found to be not guilty. The ticket was $350.00 and I was not guilty so just on principle alone I went to down to fight it and won.

Good for you, around here it's a money thing. All cities are broke, hence more tickets. The law of averages say 99% will plea bargin a lower offence, meaning only 1% fight.

just the facts

nice one and good on you. We now got the same system over here with vosa who can fine you on the spot for almost anything. You're right many, its not about the law but about the balance sheet now.

Please correct me if I am wrong,in Germany drivers actually get fined for tailgating and "hanging" in the left lane.I see no reason for people staying in the left lane other than they are ignorant, inconsiderate and plain uneducated. Also in Germany drivers are fined according to how much money they make, not like standard fines in the U.S.Why not fine the Bill Gates,Tiger Woods, the ultra rich half a weeks pay for a moving violation,say,500,000 dollars. What good does a 250 dollar fine do to the ultra rich pocket?

your a violator and they wanted you for more than that $350- they can pull you over at any time for any reason. yea its about the money but how do you like the treatment for it.

The treatment was not that bad, I felt sorry for the cop, poor guy, he came over to me before the triel and told me his case against me hopping I would back out. He was lying. When he came over to me he stepped on my foot. lol It was a mistake I am sure but I told the judge and he laughed which really made him look bad. When I turned around to go to my seat everyone behind me was clapping, quietly. I dont know why but i liked that judge.
