Number one problem in the Concrete Pumping industry right now is lack of Operators. I remember when things were so busy all the operators were getting 60 plus hours a week and then the bottom dropped out and nobody was working. I even knew operators who had lost everything and were sleeping in the concrete pumping owners yard in a tent. Most of the old pumps were sold off to mexico and around the world. Most of these out of work operators went back to school or found a job at Fed Ex or UPS or went into another field never to return to pumping concrete. Well today things are picking up, everyone is ordering new Concrete Pumps and all the pump companies have more work then they know what to do with so whats the problem? The problem now is we have new pumps sitting in the yard and no operators to run them. We have an operator shortage. Yes we have pumps, we have concrete to pump we just don’t have the operators to run the pumps.
I would like to say this is an Operator market, all pump companies are now looking for operators.
