The first, last and only love affair that I have ever had with a professional sports team was with the Denver Broncos. Remarkably, this transpired when I was a resident of the state of Colorado. Ah, those heady days when John Elway was kicking ass and pulling off a win in the last few seconds, priceless. He then went into the auto dealer business and the love affair was over. I have since come to the realization that it wasn’t love; it was drinking beer with 50,000 of my closest friends on Sunday.

And for professional sports, they will drink with whatever city pays them the most money. No loyalty.
