This morning I responded to a post about Boom Bounce some of you might have seen. It was deleted from the site for a good reason, it is quite possible the post was a joke and seriously this is not a joking matter, I respect the Admin for keeping tabs on the topic’s and back them up on the decision. But I do believe the topic did have some merit. I will repost one of the replies that I added because I do feel there is a concern that some might not question statements made. If you are the guy that started the thread and would like to talk about it please e-mail or call a trusted member of the industry. This is the reply I posted lets talk about it, we all learn and grow, I believe this is a great place to discuss and learn, lots of guys do contribute to the process. If you will indulge me a moment with a TRUE story. When CP.com first started I was aware of the site and wasn’t yet a member. I was a Putz Service teck at the time and visiting a customer. I was standing in amongst an operator BS session, they didn’t know me or who I was with I didn’t have any PM clothes on. This group of guy’s were bragging about posting BS and promoting Bad setups and operation of pumps, I listened till I couldn’t stand it and announced my self and asked them how they would feel if some Green guy believes the BS and tries it, yes some can decipher the truth from the BS but there are people in the world that believe what they read. So I will stop now with the thought, If one guy is motivated to look deeper to find out the truth and be safer some one might go home that might not have………. Thanks for the indulgence TT |

Good on you, TT. More air pressure in the tires is no substitute for outriggers. I was halfway through typing a response when it hit me that it was an early April fool's post. I think the 11 1/2" boom pipe post was the inspiration for that thread.
Full outriggers anytime you can, shortrig only if there are no other options - place reminders (pylons) of what your safe limits of boom movement are. I also tie a survey ribbon on my remote, and inform the crew and mixer drivers to help keep an eye out. Never shortrig by any amount on the working side. |

I did think the one of the 11,5'' pipes was funny.. But this one was quite stupid yes. I was actualy doubting if it was BS or just an extreem dumb operator.. Or maybe a 12m pump or something... |

yes the 11.5 pipe was funny but the new one was just a big over the line. I don't want to confuse anyone that is for sure. We are always having fun but we need to be safe as well. Its chillax |
