Does anyone use the Isuzu NPR trucks to pull their trailer pumps. Im thinking about buying one. Any reviews like pulling hills or braking/ engine power would be helpfull. i have a Putz tk70 tandem axle. Been pulling with a 2007  f450 6.0 but tired of all the repairs.

We don't use the Isuzu in our pumping part but for our concrete forming crews.  They are a good truck for carrying supplies but they really don't have a bunch of power just slow and steady.  They only problem we have had with them is the enjectors keeping going out.  We have 3  --- 2 are 2006 and one is 2008.  I think they would be good to pull line pump around town.  I don't think I would like them for jobs more then 2 hours away.

Thank you for the reply. If you wouldn't mind a couple questions. When injectors go is that a dead in the water need a tow truck or is a limp to the shop situation? are your 2006 the NPR or NPRHD model? that is the exact year im looking at i found one with 20k miles on it. We pull alot of hills out here in So-Cal. The power issue was a concern. the suspension appears adequate for the weight. Thanks again

Hi Rs, ive been running isuzu's for 7 years with very little trouble, both from new, one 6.2 t mounted transcrete p40 and one 3.5t which tow a nearly 2.8t transcrete p70 trailer, 6.2t has done 250000km with just servicing and wear and ter cost, 3.5t has done 100000km and had to get new re gen burner and a new clutch at 70km, apart from that they fired up very morning, and done the job :)

Isnt the NPR a 4 cylinder model? Im not hundred % sure but we had a NPR its a great truck but like the previous guys said no power. You take a chance parking on hills you might wanna look in to the NQR and smaller FTR they have 6 cylinder engines....

When injectors have gone bad on our truck we are able to limp it home.  Usually shut it off wait 15 min then go again.  We pull skidsteers and other heavey equipment so pullings not the problem. Just seat back and enjoy the ride cause you aren't going to get a speeding ticket is all.  Our NPR running 160,000 miles.

i have a 2009 new gen isuzu npr400 it is the 5th npr 400 mounted under the same pump, all previous trucks were trouble free apart from a few diff failures (spider gears). the current one is a different story, it was bought when this new series first came out so maybe they hadnt found all the bgs but we have had a fair few problems:blown turbo 50k kms new steering box, new steering rack, new air con compressor, new stereo, 6 keyless entry remotes, new starter 110k kms. nows thats mnot to say it isnt a nice truck lots of creature comforts and such just wish it was as reliable as the 2002 npr400 we had
