Just for my own benefit, with all the badmouthing about Sany concrete pumps, I would like to know how many of you guys have actually ran one.

I would be willing to bet the guys doing the most whinning and trash talking have never seen one in real life.

I have absolutely NO affiliation to Sany, or this website. 

What I would love to see happen is we bring back some old Elbas, Thompsons, and Whiteman pumps for you guys to run for a few months.  Like me and alot of the others who have been around for years.  This is what we learned on.

I'll bet that new Sany you people trash everyday would look really good after a couple weeks on a 1980 Elba!!!

Only tried one Sany at a show and seen a couple at work.
Moves the mud fine and probably works fine when new, don't know much about parts and support, but when I worked as a mechanic some years back it sucked to get parts for Sany, mostly excavators, but luckily they use parts produced on lisence so they were sourceable otherwise.
And the way they are put together and designed doesn't look very thought trough, not in a Schwing or Putz way. A lot of space not utilized and or just wasted.
Like the hydraulics tank where the water tank is on a Putz. Why don't put the hydraulic where all other mfg. puts it? In the unused space in the supportstructure.
The whole thing looks like an old Putz with modifications to make it easier and cheaper to produce.
They have some nice features though, like the Putz style of running the boom with one joystick and the quick change out of pistons, but they need it since the pistons don't last long...
And the remote looks, feels and performs like a run of the mill cheap standard piece.

But yeah, they do what they were designed for, performs okay and are a cheap entry level boom pump with some nice features.
But would rather look at a JunJin if I were in the marked for an entry level boom pump, much better thought out design.
Guess I'm just spoiled running new Putzs....

Hahahaha... true... I miss the old black and white air over hyd. Thomson's. I was lucky to learn and start my pumping career on one. Not a bad pump, I actually miss running the old pumps.... I remember having a runaway boom, stack valve stuck on main stage down. I never ran for the clutch in cab so fast before... bet I made it in 2.2 secs. hahaha great memories... water washes GREAT too.

i've only been pumping since 2006 but the first pump i ran was an '81 putz 28m. it had black and white controls, a tethered remote and MANUAL swing out front outriggers. you had to wear rain gear if you were driving in poor weather because the cab was rotted out on the drivers side and occasionally the duct tape would fall off and expose you to the spray from the tires... but i suppose the real icing on the cake was the elephant trunk... no matter how hard i tried to keep that darn thing clean it would build up concrete to the point that you couldn't pump a 3/8" mix at a 6" slump...  haha good times!

in hindsight im really glad to have learned on that piece because now i know just how good i have it with these newer pumps. i don't take the technology for granted!

What happened to the gate valves?????? Getgood a sucking a sponge back in one of those and cleaning out anything else wi;ll be a sinch.

we is still usin pieces like that ! and compared to some of the british built crap pumps of yesteryear they is like a rolls royce !!!! lol
